Local Missions: Literacy Program

ESBC Literacy Ministry’s mission is to proclaim the life-changing power of Jesus Christ in a practical and understanding way through using God’s Holy Word to improve individual literacy skills. We believe that the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively is critical to achieving our ultimate potential in both our physical and spiritual lives.

The ESBC Literacy Ministries include:

Adult Reading and Writing (ARW) - to help adult low-level readers improve their ability to read and write. The Adult Reading and Writing service is available by appointment only.

English as a Second Language (ESL) – to help people to learn to speak English. ESL classes meet Wednesdays at 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Tutoring for Children and Youth (TCY) – to meet needs of children and youth who need help with school work. Tutoring is on Wednesday afternoons from 3:30-4:30 p.m. The last day for the tutoring ministry will be May 15th for the 2012-2013 school year. Tutoring will resume in the Fall of 2013 for the new school year.

Sessions are normally held on Wednesday afternoons and evenings, but other times may be set by appointment only.
